The focus of Camp Friendship is to provide a rich Chinese cultural experience for Chinese-born adoptees and their siblings through various mediums. Classes include cooking, Tai Chi, art, dance, folklore, language and music. Most of our instructors are talented, professional members of the Chinese-American community. Camp is open to all Chinese adoptees and their siblings who will be entering grades Kindergarten through eighth the September following camp.

Date: July 20 - 24, 2020
Time: 9:55 AM - 2:45 PM
Cost: $185 per camper/$310 for 2 campers/$420 for 3 campers
Age: Children entering grades Kindergarten 8th the following Sept.
Place: Shrine of St. Joseph, 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling, NJ 07950
Bring: Bag lunch and drink each day except Friday.
Wear: Camp T-shirt, shorts and sneakers

Children will be placed in groups based on the grade they will be entering in September 2020. A parent volunteer will be with each group during the course of the day. All campers will receive a color-coded official Camp T-shirt, which must be worn every day. Additional T-shirts can be ordered if desired.

While we do have professional staff, a limited number of parent volunteers will be needed to chaperone groups and assist in other areas. If you are able to volunteer your time, please check the box on the attached application. We do need a commitment of the entire week from our volunteers. For insurance reasons, no child under Kindergarten age is allowed to stay on the premises during camp hours. Please take this under consideration when making your decision about volunteering. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Chinese culture. Volunteers will be contacted prior to camp.

Camp concludes Friday with a Chinese buffet for all campers and volunteers. Following lunch, all campers will share what they have learned in this weeklong cultural experience by participating in a special program for family and friends. All parents and friends are invited to attend this performance.

We are searching for a traditional Chinese boutique to come to our camp for a day. This boutique should be filled with a variety of authentic Chinese items for purchase. Please plan on browsing and shopping in the boutique!

We look forward to another exciting year at Camp Friendship. We hope that your child will join us for a week of sharing and fun in which new friendships are formed and old one re-kindled. This rich experience is sure to give your child a sense of pride in himself/herself as well as in his/her Chinese heritage.

If you have any questions, please use our Contact Us page to email us.

Thank you and we hope to see you all this summer!
